Background
Amtrak’s Horizon cars were built with two variants, Coach and Dinette. They were built with sliding passenger doors and drop down steps, Amtrak have been converting the doors to Dutch doors and permanently down steps although I have seen pictures of cars with one type of each door on either end. Some Coach cars have had the large window at the “A” end made into a half size window, whether this has been applied to each side of “A” end I have no idea. If I can find out for sure of this modification I will make them available.
Under frames
The under frames have a pilot hole drilled for mounting the bogies, if you plan to use the Kato high speed truck [part number 800085] as I do, I enlarge the hole in the under frame to 3mm and use a 12mm long bolt with nyloc nut to attach the bogie to the under frame.
I have also put a small pilot hole in the centre of the under frame so if you wish you can fix the under frame to the body, the body will require a pilot hole drilling and tapping to your desired size to avoid splitting the body.
