Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee
Background
A friend thought a CNSM layout would be a good idea, the layout is designed for the latter years of the CNSM. Hopefully through time there will be a range of the passenger cars that were in use at that time.
Since then things have developed [mainly by the enthusiasm of a couple of American modelers] and I am now working on a full range of models so hopefully a CNSM N scale layout can be made.
Interurban Under frames
The Interurbans are designed to fit on the Tomytec TM-02 chassis with a little modification to the chassis which basically involves removing some extra off the frame ends as shown below in the before and after pictures. The frame then slips into the body with a ridge on the inside of the body to retain it at the correct height.
A light file of the frame side may be required so that it slips into the body without forcing it.

Interurban couplings
There is a pilot hole printed in the body, this can be drilled and tapped to take a microtrains 1015 coupling, [or 1016 if a longer shank is required]. Do not screw directly into the hole it may split the body.
Trolley pole
I have a 1.1mm square hole printed into the pole mounting locations, my idea being that a brass 1mm square section can be slotted in with a pole soldered to the square section in either the raised or lowered position. Any better ideas considered.
My thought process and model limitations.
The models have been designed so that they can be used on a working layout without having to spend hours on each model to fit a chassis etc. To work to the nearest commercially available chassis has meant that the body is 1mm too wide and the bottom of the body sits 1mm too high from the railhead. Due to limitations in the printing process certain small details have to be omitted or produced slightly oversize so that they do not break off.
The biggest problem is getting accurate details and information especially for roof detail,.During their life things were modified and altered so what I have produced may have the odd different detail on the pictures you have looked at. I am always looking at ways to improve what has been produced to date.
