The
PaTrain operated in various forms from the early 70's to 1989. The
consist and paint scheme that I am modeling operated from 1981 to the
PaTrain's demise on April 28th 1989 (exactly 18 years before the
creation of this page).
This is the PaTrain Schedule from 1985. You can see the scheduled stops along its route.

PaTrain
6691 leads the westbound commuter train under the Duquesne-McKeesport
Bridge. The locomotive was painted by a vendor
at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium. I painted the
passenger cars and decaled both the locomotive and passenger cars.

The westbound train is passing through the city of Pittsburgh as it makes its way to the old B&O station on Grant Street.

This
is the front facade of the Baltimore and Ohio passenger station on
Grant Street. This structure, which no longer exists, was built
in 1957. The date can be seen on the lower left of the building.
I used old photos to create a somewhat smaller version to fit
in within the 17 buildings that make up the Pittsburgh area of the
layout.

The F-7AU locomotive sits between the platforms on one of the two express tracks leading to the station.

Here is another view of the station. If you look on the left, you
can see an HO-scale version of the PaTrain schedule shown at the top of
the page.

This is a close-up shot of the passenger cars. I used Con-Cor
smoothside passenger cars which closely resemble the ones used on this
commuter train.
