The last through train on the BNSF Harbor Subdivision pauses in the siding at Alcoa to drop off a string of empty well cars. The next westbound out of Hobart Yard will take the Alameda Corridor subway line. In four days time, the Harbor Sub will be declared within yard limits, and the track from MP 8 to MP 14 mothballed. An end has come to the western tip of the Santa Fe Railway transcontinental empire. April 14, 2002.
