Tutorial: Drawing Turnouts

Last revised: 08/18/03 17:20 CST

Creating a turnout

Step 1: Draw tracks approaching and through straight leg of turnout using C lines.
Step 2: From the straight leg of the turnout, draw diverging leg using B or D lines (as appropriate).
Step 3: A single track segment can have one turnout on each end. (True three-way and double-slip turnouts are not possible at this time; however, they can be fudged.)
Step 4: The completed turnouts.
Step 5: The completed turnouts in Play mode.

Creating a crossover

Step 1: Draw parallel tracks. Ensure each segment is of equal length and that endpoints match.
Step 2: Select the segment from which the crossover is to start, and use B or D lines (as appropriate) to draw one segment connecting the parallel tracks.
Step 3: The completed crossover.
Step 4: The completed crossover in Play mode.
