Company
The BG&CM Railroad Company was incorporated in the State of Idaho on 23 October 2002. The local management of the railroad is currently located at the Orofino, Idaho railroad depot.
The railroad is considered to be of Class III status by the Surface Transportation Board. Owning nearly 76 miles of operating railroad and an additional 53 miles of embargoed track, BG&CM Railroad covers much of Idaho’s Southern Panhandle Region.
The BG&CM Railroad has a strategic alliance with the Great Northwest Railroad Company, a WATCO Companies affiliate. Great Northwest Railroad (GNWR) is located in Lewiston, Idaho and provides service between the BG&CM Railroad at Lewiston and the Union Pacific/BNSF Railroad interchange at Ayer Junction, Washington.
BG&CM views plans to reopen the Second and Fourth Subdivisions
BG&CM is formulating plans to reopen the railroad's embargoed trackage. Management is working with local economic development and shippers in an effort to speed the process.

BG&CM Engine 2404, a GP-30, pulls loaded centerbeams from Konkolville Lumber Company in Orofino, Idaho. The Railroad serves several lumber mills, a cedar mill, grain elevators, and bark distributors.
