| Note: Parking in the Washington DC Metro Area is always difficult at best. Metered parking can be found on some streets, and there is | ||||
| usually parking available in parking garages, but the price is not cheap. It is advisable to park at one of the out-lying Metro Stations and | ||||
| ride into the DC Area. Of particular interest would be the Blue Line's Franconia-Springfield Station at the south end of Frontier Blvd at the | ||||
| Franconia-Springfiekl Parkway. This Metro line parallels the CSX former RF&P line for most of the route to the Reagan National Airport | ||||
| station. The Yellow Line parallels the CSX line from King St Station past the airport and across the Potomac River. Both ends of the | ||||
| Red Line parallel the CSX Metropolitan Sub (and were biult in the CSX Right of Way) running from Ivy City Yard out through Silver Spring, | ||||
| Rockville and Shady Grove. | ||||
| Please understand that due to the heightened security status since September 11, 2001, there may be times where you will be asked to | ||||
| stop what you are doing and leave. Remember that this area has many sensitive locations where security is a major issue. When the | ||||
| Security Level is at Orange or higher, do not attempt to railfan in the Washington DC metro Area. | ||||
