Railfanning Equipment

Camera

I shoot with a Canon Powershot A80.  The A80 is a versatile camera in that it has full manual

options as well as add-on lenses.  With me being fairly new to photography (just starting in the fall of 2004),

this camera was perfect in teaching me the basics of photography.

Scanner

To scan the rail frequencies, I use a RadioShack Pro 95 Dual Trunking Scanner.  You don't

need a trunking scanner to listen to rail frequencies, but I use one to also follow the fire/police in my

county who are on a Motorola Trunking system.

Tripod

I use a Quantaray QSX 8001.  It ran about $40 and serves it's purpose well.
