420-375, painted in the original orange and gray livery, is preparing to depart Marbach (N) on its way to Stuttgarter SchwabStraße. This photo was taken in March of 2002; all of Germany's ET 420s are now in the Verkersrot livery.
A pair of ET 420s crosses the Neckar River between Benningen and Marbach. This bridge was replaced in the 1980s as part of Stuttgart's S-Bahn expansion.
An S5 train departs Ludwigsburg Bahnhof on its way to SchwabStraße.
An S2 train destined for Böblingen is making a stop at Vaihingen.
An S-Bahn driver watches the doors close before departing Ludwigsburg.
