Railion, formally know as Railion DB Cargo, is the freight operator of the Deutsche Bahn. This 294 switcher/shunter is painted in Railion’s new red paint scheme.

A 290 in the DB Cargo paint scheme pulls a short freight train through Ludwigsburg. The 29X series locomotives are used for short distance freight trains, and for switching cars at classification yards (RangierBahnhof).

A brand new 185 in Railion's current paint scheme sneaks past a 212 in its orignal 1960's livery. The 212 belongs to a railroad historical society.

185-027 is one of the original 185 series locomotives. Note the big DB "cookie" on the side of the locomotive; rumor has it this was inspired by the model manufacturer Roco.

140-277 was one of the very few Railion locomotives still in the original livery when this picture was taken in 2002 at Ulm GBF. The BR 140 series of locomotives will be retired very soon.

Kornwestheim was the last depot for the BR 150 class locomotive, and one of their regular assignments was to push trains up the Geislingen Steige. Sadly, the BR 150s have all been retired, and all but 2 have been scrapped. This photo was taken in February of 2001.
