Arrival time: 11:40pm (from Chicago)

Description:

As the western terminus for the Black Hawk route, Dubuque will serve a critical role for passengers looking to travel towards Chicago as well as residents and business travelers wishing to utilize Chicago area airports - providing an additional intermodal option beyond Dubuque Regional Airport.  While 57,637 people reside in the city of Dubuque, nearly twice that number reside in Dubuque County.

Dubuque has invested a lot of effort and resources (Envision 2010) into revitalizing the area around the proposed terminal train station.  Dubuque now hosts a number of attractions, including a casino, aquarium, and museums, all in that area of the city.  Visitors can now stroll through these attractions, shops, and along the Mississippi River (which the train will cross) in what just a few decades ago was a heavily industrial area.

The City of Dubuque has secured funding for the station, named the "Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center" (DITC).
