My youthful impression of church, and sermons in particular, is mirrored in a line in my book: "But he talked too long." I found I did like certain hymns, though. I think my favorite back then was George Warren's great National Hymn God of our Fathers. (Only decades later would I appreciate the beauty of Daniel Roberts' lyrics.)
