In 1940 or so a man named Bill McAllister showed up in New London, a chemical engineer employed by the Hanlon Pipe Line Company. He was a Little Rock native and a graduate of Iowa State University.

According to my mother, Bill first dated Myrt, but switched to Genevieve, for reasons lost to history. (His children and grandchildren of course applaud this decision, but any Myrt-Bill offspring would doubtless have done the same.)
